Within the 4510 studio curated by Patrick Peters, we worked to design a National Juneteenth Museum. To activate the potential axis of Emancipation Park and Emancipation Avenue, my partner Sarah Rupani and I separated our programs into two spaces and connected them through the second floor with a sky bridge. Underneath the bridge is a tabletop road, creating an outdoor plaza where Rosalie Street could be closed for celebration. The flexible community spaces and the project reflect the surrounding urban fabric along Emancipation Avenue, creating a vibrant opportunity to celebrate the Juneteenth holiday and many more meaningful community celebrations annually.
